What is a digital coaching workbook?
A digital workbook brings a sequence of lessons, questions, and exercises into one resource. In coaching, it gives clients a place to explore a topic between sessions and gives you a shared starting point for the next conversation.
CoachSheets workbooks organize that work into chapters. Clients open a private link, work through the available chapters, and submit their reflections. You can review their responses in the workbook's context.
Choose a workbook for the conversation you want to have
- Life balance: help a client reflect on priorities and where they want to focus.
- Career transitions: explore what matters in a next role and identify practical steps.
- Leadership and personal development: connect reflection to an action the client can try before your next session.
Review each template's outline and adapt it to your scope of practice and the client's needs.
PDF or interactive digital workbook?
Both can support coaching. The right format depends on how your client prefers to work and how you want to review their reflections.
| What matters | PDF workbook | CoachSheets workbook |
|---|---|---|
| Completing exercises | Print and write, or use a PDF editor if the file supports it. | Write reflections in a browser using a private client link. |
| Working through chapters | The reader moves through the pages. | Choose full access, sequential completion, or scheduled chapter access. |
| Reviewing responses | Arrange how clients return their completed file or bring it to a session. | Open the assigned workbook to review submitted reflections and progress. |
| Working offline | A downloaded or printed PDF can be used offline. | Use an internet connection to save and submit workbook responses. |
How to use a workbook with coaching clients
- Choose a template. Preview its chapters and check that its focus matches your client's goals.
- Make it your own. After signing in, duplicate the template if you want to edit its content before assigning it.
- Choose a client and delivery settings. Review the chapter access, personal note, and due date before confirming the assignment.
- Review and follow through. Read the client's submitted reflections and bring their questions and next actions into your next session.

Questions about digital workbooks
Can I try a workbook without signing up?
Yes. The short sample on this page is open to everyone. Its answers are temporary. To assign a full workbook to a client, create an account or log in.
Do my clients need a CoachSheets account?
Clients access an assigned workbook through their private link. They do not need a coach account to complete it.
Can I edit a workbook template?
Coaches with permission to create worksheets can duplicate a built-in workbook and edit their copy before assigning it. The original template stays available in the library.
Is a digital workbook the same as a coaching worksheet?
A worksheet usually focuses on one exercise. A workbook groups related material into chapters so a client can explore a broader topic over time.
Can I start with a free account?
CoachSheets offers a Free Starter plan. Check the current pricing and client limits before choosing a plan for your practice.
